Santo Domingo. – With dominant pitching and timely performances, the Atléticos de Puerto Plata and the Mineros de Bonao secured their tickets to the semifinal phase of the National Summer Baseball League, thus completing the group of four teams that will compete in the round robin of the 2025 tournament.

In the José Briceño stadium in Puerto Plata, the Atléticos defeated the Reales de Santiago 2-1 in a close match, supported by an airtight pitching staff that barely allowed an unearned run. Welinton Díaz opened the game and had effective relief from Samuel Quintana, Michel Inoa —winner of the match—, Omarly Luna, José Olaizola and Marcos Frías, who closed with brilliance by striking out the three batters of the ninth inning.
The classification marked the debut of Carlos Paulino at the head of the Puerto Plata team, who closed the regular season with a record of 11-9, unreachable for the Bravos de La Vega, automatically securing the last spot.
For their part, the Mineros de Bonao also sealed their pass after their victory on Saturday, completing the semifinalist quartet.

The round robin will start on Friday, September 12th with a double header:
Miners vs Royals, at the PUCMM stadium (2:00 p.m.).
Athletics vs Farmers, at the Bragañita García stadium (2:00 p.m.).
The teams qualified —Reales de Santiago (13-7), Granjeros de Moca (13-7), Atléticos de Puerto Plata (11-9) and Mineros de Bonao (10-9)— will play the semifinal in a round-robin format, with six games each. The top two will advance to the grand final for the tournament title, dedicated to the Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza.
