Byron Buxton joins the United States roster for the 2026 World Baseball Classic

MINNEAPOLIS.– The star outfielder for the Minnesota Twins, Byron Buxton, was officially added to the United States national team roster that will compete in the 2026 World Baseball Classic, as announced by the North American team through its official platforms.

For Buxton, 32 years old, it will be his first participation in the World Baseball Classic, joining a powerful lineup full of Major League figures who will seek to revalidate the American prominence in the maximum event of national teams in baseball. The swift outfielder joins a luxury roster that already includes names like Aaron Judge, Gunnar Henderson, Corbin Carroll, Kyle Schwarber, Tarik Skubal, Paul Skenes, and Mason Miller, among others, which confirms the high competitive level that the United States team will present in the tournament to be held in March.

Season of Consecration

Buxton arrives at the Classic after one of the best campaigns of his career in 2025. Despite some physical limitations, he participated in 126 games, setting personal bests in home runs (35), runs batted in (83) and runs scored (97), in addition to adding 24 stolen bases and a solid offensive line of .264/.327/.551. That performance earned him his first Silver Slugger, confirming his status as one of the most complete players in Major League Baseball. Debut against Brazil
