Juan Soto hits his 31st home run in Mets’ victory over the Nationals

Washington. – Dominican star outfielder Juan Soto once again made his power felt at Nationals Park, this time as a rival, by hitting his number 31 home run of the season in the New York Mets’ victory over the Washington Nationals.

Soto’s hit traveled 408 feet and left with a speed of 107 miles per hour through left field, after a pitch from the left-hander Konnor Pilkington in the seventh inning. The Mets’ offensive didn’t stop there. Jeff McNeil, Mark Vientos, and Brett Baty also went yard, rounding out an explosive day that left the Nationals’ pitching with no answer.

The metropolitan team dominated the match from start to finish, showing a fiery lineup that knew how to take advantage of every opportunity. With this triumph, the Mets remain in the fight for a Wild Card spot in the National League and are 5.5 games behind the first place in the Eastern Division, occupied by the Philadelphia Phillies.

Soto, who was a star for several seasons with the Nationals and a key player in the 2019 World Series victory, continues to show his ability to shine even against his former team, reaffirming his leading role in the Mets’ lineup.
