Santo Domingo. – The teams Liga Naco, Los Mellos, Domingo Guzmán, la Casa del Colt, and Halcones del Evaristo, with those called up as leaders of groups A, B, C, D and E in the North Division of the XXXV Rubén Pimentel tournament of Leagues, organized by the Softball Association of the National District (Asadina)
As second places respectively go the Búfalos, the winner between Luperón and Cementera, Saludables, San Francisco/Comercio en Marcha and the Picapiedras.
In the fair, recognition is given with a dedication to Jorge Rijo of the San Jerónimo league and Rafael Franjul of the Aborigen; they compete for the Confraternidad 2025 cup and play with 4Fans balls and Z-mil bats distributed by JM. Álvarez, co-sponsor of the event.
The matchups in the second round will be between the Picapiedras versus Liga Naco teams; Los Mellos against Comercio en Marcha/San Francisco; Domingo Guzmán, Los Búfalos; Casa del Colt faces the winner between Cementera/Luperón and the Halcones face the Saludables.
Mr. Apolinar Durán, president of Asadina, indicated that, to the winners of this series, which will be under the “sudden death” system, the best loser is added as the fourth team to complete the four that will play a crossed semifinal, 1-4 and 2-3 and define the two teams that will fight for the Confraternidad Cup in a best-of-three final.
Wins first second round South Division
The Restauradores defeated the Aliados 16-12 in the first match of the second round, in the match that pitted them against each other at the Ministry of Defense stadium.
Stanley Linares was the winning pitcher and Edward Mateo lost. Julio Suárez of the winning team stood out at bat with 4-3, a home run and two singles; he scored two and drove in three; Alexander Martínez with 3-2, a home run; he scored three and drove in three; Erick Carvajal with 4-2, a home run, with one run scored and three RBIs; Juan E. Abreu with 2-2, one run scored and two RBIs and Joseph Araujo with 3-2, a home run, scored and drove in one.
At the Moscoso Puello San Francisco (La Liguita), they won twice against Casa del Colt and secured their position as leaders of their group for the second round, which starts today in the North Zone.
In the first one, the victory was with a score of 19-2, knockout, with the triumph going to Alfredo Ovalles and Eladio López losing. The offense of the winners was led by Francisco Pérez, home run and double; César Aybar and José Vásquez, home run and single, and Edison Emeterio, a home run.

Today’s games
The second day of the South Division is played today starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Rafael Pichardo stadiums (La Farándula), where the Adovenprofar A and B teams face each other first and second, the Guerreros del Mide selection against La Farándula-A.
At the Rafael Vallejo stadium (Liga Centro), the home team plays against the Paralela league, while in the second hour Aborigen faces SoftCodia.
The teams La Cementera and Pepe Lucas define their classification in a sudden death game that will be played starting at 6:30 in the evening. The winner will face San Francisco, as part of the second round of the North Division.
In that Division, the Flintstones also play, the hosts against Liga Naco, at 6:30 and in the second game Liga Domingo Guzmán against the Buffalos, while in the Hoyo de Chulín/Puerto Isabela/Alfredo Tejada stadium, Mellos face San Francisco in the first game and 20 minutes later, Halcones against Saludables.
Apolinar Durán Brito, president of the Asadina, explained that the three winners of those matches advance to the third round, where they are joined by the best loser, defined under the system of lowest average, after dividing the runs allowed by the runs scored.
The winners of those matches advance to the semifinal series along with the best loser, which will be the one with the lowest average under the CP/CA system. The winners of those two from that round go for the great confraternity cup 2025.
