LA ROMANA.– Backed by an offensive of 14 unstoppable, the Leones del Escogido extended their perfect run in the Todos contra Todos by defeating 10-5 the Toros del Este, on the night of this Friday at the Francisco A. Micheli Stadium.

With the victory, the national and Caribbean champions placed their record at 5-0, taking a two-game lead over the Toros (3-2), who occupy the second place in the standings. The Scarlet team set the pace from the first inning by scoring three runs against Justin Courtney, after a walk to Erik González, a single by Sócrates Brito, a double steal, and a run-scoring groundout by Yamaico Navarro. With the bases loaded after walks to Raimel Tapia and Jorge Mateo, José Marmolejos hit a single to right field that drove in two more runs to complete the initial rally. The Romanense team responded with two annotations in the bottom of the first, but the capitalinos regained control in the second episode with another two runs. Junior Lake opened with a single to right field, stole second and scored with a hit by González to left. Subsequently, a hit by Navarro produced the fifth red run.El Escogido added one more in the fourth inning and punished again in the fifth, when after two outs and against Anderson Severino, Michael De la Cruz hit a single, stole second and scored with a double to center field by Jonathan Guzmán, who then crossed the plate with the eighth run after a hit by Lake against Jhan Maríñez.
In the bottom of the fifth, the Bulls loaded the bases and Eloy Jiménez hit a double to left field against Phillips Valdez, driving in three runs. However, two of those runs were charged to Travis Lakins, who left without a decision for not completing the five regulation innings. The final blow came in the eighth episode, when Socrates Brito hit a two-run home run to right field against Miguel Castro, setting the final score 10-5. The victory went to Hansel Marcelino (1-0), who pitched 1.1 scoreless innings with two strikeouts. Courtney (0-1) took the loss after allowing the three runs in the first inning.Offensive Highlights
