Santiago achieved its first victory of the U12 National Championship “Robinson Canó Cup”.

El Toro, San Antonio de Guerra.- On the second day of action of the 7th U12 National Championship “Robinson Canó Cup”, the National District, Valverde, and Santo Domingo come out on top, undefeated with (2-0) and at the top of their respective groups, while the Santiago team achieved its first victory of the event, which is being held from June 10th to the 14th at the IPL Academy.

Early on, a duel of undefeated teams that momentarily defined the supremacy of Group B ended as a wide victory for the National District team, which defeated Bahoruco 10-4, thus remaining alone in first place.

The National District, which had just handed San Pedro de Macorís a 14-3 knockout yesterday, has 24 runs produced in its first two games, and today arrived with active bats to lead its group in the tournament dedicated to Edgar Augusto Féliz Arbona, director of Dasac.

Sebastián Rodríguez won the game, he worked four complete innings, allowed 5 singles, gave up 3 runs, one of them by home run, issued three walks and struck out five, while the loss was charged to Carlos Núñez for the Bahoruco team, in 3.0 IP, he allowed 5 hits, 6 runs, 4 walks and struck out two.

Valverde did not fall behind and remains undefeated in Group A after defeating Duarte province 10-5 in a match where they maintained total control from start to finish, and with this result, Duarte province’s aspirations to advance are complicated, as they have yet to put any numbers on the board.

Greydin Golibart from Valverde sparked with the bat, going 2-for-2, scoring three runs, driving in 2 more, and drawing a walk to be recognized as the standout player of the game.

Santiago shakes it off and secures its first victory in the Fedom U12 National, a tight game with many hits that ended in favor of the Cibao team 9-8 over San Pedro de Macorís. The team from San Pedro has their backs against the wall without recording a win in the first two days of the event, which concludes this coming Sunday, June 14.

Yuniel Vásquez Cuevas was the winner, in 2.2 IP, he allowed 5 singles, 2 runs, all earned, two walks and one strikeout, while the loser was V Caminero who in 1.2 innings of work, allowed 6 hits, 6 runs, 3 of which were earned, gave up two walks and struck out three.

Santiago Eliezer Vásquez was the MVP of the match; the second baseman went 3-for-3 including a double, with two runs scored and two more driven in.

At the end of the day, the Santo Domingo Province tied up Peravia’s bats.

Santo Domingo sharpened their bats and achieved their undefeated status masterfully, defeating Peravia 11-1, where, thanks to the combined work of their starting pitchers, they limited the team from the South and only allowed them to hit two singles throughout the entire game.

Robert De los Santos, Daniel Paniagua, and Delwin García were unhittable from the mound, and together they struck out 12 opponents.

The game’s MVP was center fielder Moisés Martínez, who went 2-for-2 today, with 3 runs scored, one RBI, and two walks drawn.

The third day of competition begins this Friday, June 12th at 9:00 a.m. between Peravia and Duarte, followed at 11:30 a.m. by the Distrito Nacional and Santiago facing off, the afternoon matchups, at 1:30 p.m. Bahoruco and San Pedro de Macorís and at 4:00 p.m. between Valverde and Santo Domingo.

As every year, the event that brings together the best talent in its category serves to form the team that will represent the Dominican Republic in the WBSC Americas/Copabe U-12 Pan American Championship, which for 2026 was announced to be held in the month of November in the country and precisely at the same venue where the U12 National is being held at the IPL Academy.
