ATLANTA – On one of the most special nights in modern baseball, Atlanta’s Truist Park briefly transformed into a time tunnel to pay tribute to Hank Aaron‘s iconic home run 715, thanks to an unprecedented technological setup that thrilled thousands of fans present during the 2025 All-Star Game.

With the stadium completely dark and the lights of cell phones illuminating the atmosphere, Major League Baseball and the Atlanta Braves presented a virtual recreation of the legendary home run with which Aaron surpassed Babe Ruth on April 8, 1974, becoming the all-time home run leader at that time.
The scene revived the mythical moment when Aaron, known as “The Hammer“, connected his historic hit against the left-handed pitcher of the Dodgers, Al Downing, in the old Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium. During the screening, attendees were able to hear fragments of the original narrations, with the unmistakable voices of Vin Scully and Milo Hamilton, which added a nostalgic and unforgettable touch to the event.

After the “virtual connection,” a series of fireworks burst over the stadium, replicating the celebration experienced that night in 1974. Hank Aaron hit 755 home runs in his career, of which 733 were achieved wearing the Braves uniform (in Milwaukee and then in Atlanta). His last 22 home runs came during his last two seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers (1975-76). Although his record was surpassed by Barry Bonds in 2007, Aaron’s impact on baseball history remains monumental.

“That ball is going… and it’s not coming back!”, Scully’s famous line resonated again in Truist Park, as if time hadn’t passed.

This tribute was part of an evening filled with emotions and symbolism, which included the first “decisive Derby” in the history of the All-Star Game, the 7-6 victory of the National League, and a display of international talent that honored the rich history of the sport.
