Jassel Pérez strengthens Covirán Granada in the Endesa League

GRANADA.- Dominican shooting guard Jassel Pérez became a new player for Coviran Granada, after being incorporated into the first team of the Andalusian team after his loan spell with Grupo Alega Cantabria, from the Primera FEB.

Pérez, 24 years old and 1.90 meters tall, arrives to cover the injuries of the Finnish forward Elias Valtonen, who will miss the rest of the season, and the Montenegrin guard Jovan Kljajic, absent for several months. The player already belonged to Covirán Granada since last summer, when he was signed by the club with the option of being re-signed during the season. The coach Ramón Díaz was key in his arrival to European basketball, after having previously coached him at Capitanes de México, a G-League team, an experience that facilitated his incorporation into the Granada team. The Dominican player will arrive in Granada this Monday and will immediately join the training sessions under Díaz’s orders. His debut is scheduled for next Saturday, when Covirán Granada visits Dreamland Gran Canaria in a match corresponding to the Endesa League. In the current season, Jassel Pérez played in 10 games in the Primera FEB, averaging 15 points per game, with 50% field goal effectiveness, as well as 4 rebounds and 3.3 assists, for an average valuation of 16. With this incorporation, Covirán Granada reinforces its perimeter and adds youth and scoring ability in its quest to remain competitive in the top category of Spanish basketball.
