Authorities participate in the “Women’s Voices” conference in commemoration of International Women’s Day in La Romana

La Romana.– Provincial authorities participated in the conference “Voces de Mujer” (Women’s Voices), a commemorative activity for International Women’s Day that brought together representatives from different sectors to promote reflection, female leadership, and recognition of women’s contributions to society. The event took place in the Don Alfonso Trinidad auditorium of the Provincial Government of La Romana and was attended by the provincial director of Public Health, Carmen Jiménez; the provincial governor, Ivelisse Mercedes Méndez; and the provincial head of the Provincial Women’s Office (OPM), Perla Altagracia J. Ramos. The activity brought together women from different areas of the province with the aim of generating a space for dialogue, motivation, and recognition of female leadership and the contributions they make from various sectors for development and social transformation.

During the conference, interventions and presentations were made focusing on highlighting the importance of women’s participation in community spaces, promoting entrepreneurship, and strengthening their voice in society. The authorities highlighted the need to continue promoting initiatives that strengthen female leadership and serve as an inspiration for new generations of women.
