AZUA, RD. – Less than a year after opening its doors to the public, the Azua Trauma Center is consolidating as the main source of specialized health for the Southern region of the Dominican Republic. Since the beginning of its external operations on April 17, 2025, the hospital has recorded a record number of patients attended: 68,787 patients assisted until January 2026. This volume of assistance underlines the critical importance of the institution in strengthening the response capacity of the health system in the face of traumatic emergencies throughout the southern zone of the country.
