Cabrera emphasized that the country hopes the judicial process advances without pressure and that the preliminary hearing convened marks a decisive step towards truth and reparation.“Nine months later, families are still mourning their loved ones and awaiting answers. Justice must act with historical responsibility and punish those responsible, as human life cannot continue to be sacrificed in the name of profit, corporate negligence, or impunity,” stated María Teresa Cabrera, president of the Frente Amplio.

The leader of the Broad Front reiterated her solidarity with the victims and their families, who she affirmed not only demand criminal justice, but also guarantees of non-repetition and a serious reform in the supervision protocols of buildings and high-attendance establishments.“The Public Ministry has presented technical evidence, expert opinions, and testimonies that describe a chain of irresponsibilities. What corresponds now is for the courts to send a clear message: in the Dominican Republic, no one is above the law,” he added.
“This tragedy must mark a before and after and that the memory of the 236 lives lost becomes a public commitment against negligence, corruption and impunity,” he concluded.
