Santo Domingo. – The Corporación del Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Santo Domingo (CAASD) reported that it is working rapidly on the repair of two breakdowns caused by third parties, one in the Colonial Zone of the National District and another in the municipality of Santo Domingo Norte, with the aim of restoring the drinking water service in the shortest possible time.
In the case of the Colonial Zone, the damage was caused by a contracting company participating in the zone’s rehabilitation project. The break occurred in a four-inch pipe, located at the intersection of Hostos and El Conde streets, as a result of an earth movement carried out by said company. The brigades of the CAASD intervened immediately to control the spill and repair the damage.

The institution indicated that the water supply is partially guaranteed in the area while the technical work is completed, and called on the contracting companies to establish immediate communication with the CAASD in case of incidents that compromise the service.
Regarding the municipality of Santo Domingo Norte, CAASD explained that its technical personnel are also working on the repair of a breakdown in the impulsion line of the Mata Mamón well field, caused by a perforation made by a private truck.
Among the sectors that partially receive the service are Bambú I and II, Cruce de La Virgen, Invi La Virgen, El Conde, Fundición, Villa Pompa, Villa Palma, Villa Germán, Villa Esperanza, Barrio Nuevo de Sabana Perdida, Los Cuernos, Miraflores, Nena, Barrio Agrario, Milloncito, Lotes y Servicios, Libertad y Progreso, Reforma Agraria, Enriquillo, Calle 18, Cruce de Sabana Perdida and Sabana Centro.
