Sosúa. – The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, inaugurated this Sunday the paving of several streets in the Valedor community, in Sosúa, a project that represented an investment of more than 95 million pesos and that ends more than 30 years of waiting for the residents.
Collado detailed that the streets Bajada del Tablón, La Gallera, Benigno, La Antigua and the circuit of streets in the Valedor sector were paved, thus guaranteeing better mobility for hundreds of families who for decades lived with impassable roads.
The minister assured that this first stage will be complemented with a road lighting plan and immediately announced the second stage of asphalting in the same sector, including the additional 1,000 meters that the community had been demanding.
“Today we are not only delivering paved streets, we are delivering dignity and well-being. Tourism will only be sustainable if it also transforms the lives of people in the communities,” Collado expressed during the event.
The residents welcomed the work with great enthusiasm, highlighting that now the children will be able to go to school without having to walk through mud and that mobility in the area will be safer and faster.
