Los Angeles, California.– Dominican actress Massiel Taveras managed to take an important step in her artistic career by joining the Hollywood film industry with her participation in the movie Bear Country, where she shares scenes with the renowned actor Russell Crowe.

After more than a decade of having moved away from the Latin market to settle in Los Angeles, the Dominican performer managed to make her way into the competitive Anglo-Saxon market, overcoming the challenges inherent to an international industry.

In this production, considered until now the most relevant film project of her career, Taveras plays María, a strong-willed Latina woman who is part of a story starring Crowe.

film, also released under the title The Get Out, is based on the novel Strip, by writer Thomas Perry, and belongs to the action-thriller genre. The plot follows Manco, a man with a complex past played by Russell Crowe, who seeks to begin a quiet phase of his life, although different situations make it difficult for him.

The film was directed by Derrick Borte and produced by Mark Fasano and Lee Broda. Filming took place in February 2025 in Queensland, Australia, specifically in the Gold Coast area, where Massiel Taveras stayed for a month participating in the shoot.

The actress described the opportunity to work alongside Russell Crowe, whom she has admired for years for his performance in the movie Gladiator, as a special and hard-to-describe experience.

“Before I found out that I would be working on a movie with Russell Crowe and that I would have scenes with him, I told a journalist friend that, if one day I happened to work with my all-time favorite actor, she should be ready to write about that moment. A year later, God made it a reality,” Taveras expressed.

The Dominican artist stated that Bear Country represents the largest and most complex production she has participated in so far, while highlighting the learning gained during the process.

“It has been a huge challenge and a great blessing that I am still processing,” he stated.

The film is now available on Amazon and other digital platforms, following its world premiere at a film festival held in Italy in 2026.

After completing a promotional tour through Europe, Massiel Taveras returned to Los Angeles to continue promoting the project, a production that marks her first participation alongside a figure of the stature of Russell Crowe and strengthens her presence within international cinema.
