The acceleration of artificial intelligence, regulatory changes, the increasing sophistication of digital risks, and geopolitical uncertainty will be the focus of the debates at the XIX International Congress of Finance and Auditing (CIFA) and the XXIV Latin American Seminar of Accountants and Auditors (SELATCA), which will bring together authorities, experts, and professionals from the region in Santo Domingo.

The event, organized by BDO Business School and the Association of Multiple Banks of the Dominican Republic (ABA), will be held from July 30 to August 2 at the Santo Domingo Bay Convention Resort & Casino hotel, in Boca Chica, under the theme “Transforming auditing and risk management in the digital age”.

“In this edition of CIFA-SELATCA, we have designed an agenda focused on the challenges that are currently transforming finance, auditing, and risk management. We will analyze everything from the impact of global shocks and the evolution of the regulatory environment, to the opportunities and challenges posed by artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, sustainability, and new corporate governance standards,” explained ABA and BDO in a press release.

They indicated that one of the central axes of the program will be dedicated to the effects of international volatility on markets and the tools available to anticipate, mitigate, and manage risks in a context marked by technological transformation, regulatory evolution, and the growing complexity of the global economic environment.

Likewise, they explained that through keynote speeches, panels, and concurrent sessions with speakers of recognized trajectory in the Dominican Republic and the region, participants will have access to specialized content on continuous auditing, applied artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, cybersecurity, comprehensive risk management, and emerging trends in sustainability and verification of ESG criteria.

Another of the thematic blocks, they added, will be oriented towards the strategic management of organizations, including structured financing for key sectors of the economy, strengthening of internal control frameworks, risk management in high-uncertainty environments, forensic auditing, corporate ethics, transparency, and anti-money laundering.

“The technical rigor of the presentations, the quality of the speakers, and the opportunity to exchange experiences with other professionals have turned CIFA-SELATCA into a community of permanent learning and updating for those involved in decision-making within organizations,” highlighted ABA and BDO.

With more than two decades of experience and an average attendance of nearly 300 people per edition, CIFA-SELATCA has established itself as one of the main spaces for updating, exchanging experiences, and building knowledge for professionals linked to finance, auditing, risk, compliance, and corporate governance.

The congress is aimed at executives, regulators, supervisors, internal and external auditors, compliance officers, risk specialists, accountants, consultants, and other professionals interested in strengthening their capabilities in the face of emerging challenges in the financial and business environment.
