Following police surveillance, young man involved in assault captured in viral video in Santiago surrenders

Santiago de los Caballeros. – The National Police reports that after a follow-up and investigation, Andy Ramón Cordero Moris, 24 years old, was voluntarily handed over by his father, and is identified as one of the alleged perpetrators of a robbery recorded in Ensanche Mella I and captured on video and shared on social media. The incident, which occurred on 57th street in the aforementioned sector, was recorded in a recording shared on social media, where two individuals are seen intercepting and assaulting a citizen of Haitian nationality, known as “Pichi”, whom they robbed of his cell phone after inflicting several stab wounds with a bladed weapon. During the investigative process carried out by police agents attached to the Division of Investigation of Crimes Against Property of Cienfuegos and thanks to information from a reliable source, the alleged perpetrators were identified.

For this reason, the National Police is actively pursuing the second person involved, nicknamed “Joan (a) El Menor”, who is urged to surrender through the means they deem appropriate. The detainee stated that the stolen cell phone, an iPhone 12 Pro Max, was returned to the victim, a fact that was confirmed by the investigators. Cordero was placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, while the location of the second implicated person, who remains at large, is being activated.
