The Dominican government allocated RD$123.6 million in fuel subsidies for the week of July 5 to 11, 2025, as reported this Friday by the Vice Minister of Internal Commerce of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs (MICM), Ramón Pérez Fermín. The official explained that, although the international hydrocarbon market maintains high volatility, a moderation in prices has been recorded this week, which has allowed the State to assume a lower fiscal effort than in previous weeks, without affecting the stability of the local market. “This scenario allows us to reduce the subsidy without compromising consumer protection. We continue to make responsible decisions, monitoring the global landscape with attention, and prioritizing collective well-being,” affirmed Pérez Fermín. For this week, a subsidy of RD$7.42 per gallon is available for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), RD$8.52 per gallon for Regular Gasoil, and RD$6.88 per gallon for Optimum Gasoil. Also, fuels such as Avtur, Kerosene, and Fuel Oil show price decreases. The Vice Minister reiterated that the Government’s commitment, under the leadership of President Luis Abinader, is to preserve internal price stability, even amidst a challenging international environment, marked by geopolitical tensions, variations in supply and demand, and climatic conditions that affect production. “We are acting with prudence, prioritizing stability and protecting Dominican families. We will remain vigilant, because although there is relief this week, the markets are unpredictable and demand agile and responsible responses,” he concluded.
