Santo Domingo.- The National Drug Council (CND) and the Ministry of Finance and Economy held a follow-up and technical assistance meeting with representatives from more than 40 organizations dedicated to the recovery of people with substance use disorders (SUD), as part of joint efforts aimed at supporting their formalization processes.

The initiative, promoted by the Dominican State, seeks to provide technical support to civil society organizations dedicated to the care, rehabilitation, and social integration of people affected by the consumption of illicit substances, thus strengthening the coordination between public institutions and these key entities in the recovery processes.

The activity is part of a continuous support process that both institutions are developing to facilitate the incorporation of these entities as non-profit associations, strengthen their institutional capacities, and contribute to the consolidation of a national network of organizations that is more solid and better prepared to respond to the needs of individuals and families affected by problematic drug use.

During the activity, participants received guidance on the legal and administrative requirements to complete their incorporation as non-profit associations, technical assistance for the preparation and review of the required documents, as well as informative material and practical guides that facilitate compliance with current regulations.

Representatives of the CASFL offered training on the Integrated Management System for Non-Profit Associations (SIGASFL), a platform that integrates the processes and actors linked to the registration, formalization, and management of these entities, facilitating compliance with the procedures established by law and strengthening the interaction between the organizations and the institutions responsible for their regulation and monitoring.
