Man sentenced to 20 years in prison for sexual assault against a teenager in Las Matas de Farfán

Santo Domingo.- A court in the judicial district of Las Matas de Farfán sentenced Garrido Encarnación Díaz to 20 years in prison after he was found guilty of sexual assault and sexual and psychological abuse against a 15-year-old adolescent.

The sentence was handed down after the Public Prosecutor’s Office presented sufficient evidence to the court which, as reported, demonstrated the criminal responsibility of the convicted person. The identity of the victim is kept confidential to protect their rights.

During the judicial process, investigating prosecutor Denia Margarita Rodríguez and litigating prosecutor Dominga Pérez, representing the Public Prosecutor’s Office, presented the evidence that allowed the court to establish the guilt of Encarnación Díaz.
