Man who murdered his sister was arrested in Mao Valverde

Mao, Valverde. – The National Police reported today that, in coordination with the Public Ministry, Juan José Guerrero Quezada, 38, was arrested, identified as the person responsible for taking the life of his sister, Mildred Estefanía Guerrero Quezada, 35, in an incident that occurred on August 24 in the municipality of Mao, Valverde province.

The arrest occurred after an intense forensic technical investigative process, analysis of video surveillance cameras, and advanced interview techniques that allowed agents of the Regional Sub-Directorate of Investigation of Mao to obtain the testimony of the detainee and collect evidence that goes beyond any reasonable doubt during the process of the materialization of this horrendous crime.

During a reinspection authorized by the acting prosecutor, the authorities found human remains hidden in containers and clothing in the victim’s apartment, which confirmed the brutality of the act.

According to the preliminary report, the detainee admitted responsibility, for reasons that are still under investigation.

Subsequently, he attempted to conceal the crime by dismembering the body, using bladed weapons that he then threw in the vicinity of a canal near the public prison of Mao.

The man also confessed to having pawned the victim’s belongings and sold domestic birds that belonged to the deceased, in order to acquire controlled substances.

The detainee will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, for the corresponding legal purposes.
