MAP reduces working hours in Greater Santo Domingo for the inauguration of the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games

Santo Domingo, DR.– The Ministry of Public Administration (MAP) has ordered a reduction in working hours for public sector institutions located in Greater Santo Domingo, on the occasion of the opening ceremony of the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026.

The measure is established in Circular No. 0022855, signed by the Minister of Public Administration, Sigmund Freund, through which it is instructed that the workday corresponding to Friday, July 24, 2026, shall conclude at 1:00 p.m. for public servants of the entities included in the provision.

The MAP explained that the decision seeks to facilitate the movement of public employees and contribute to the organized development of activities linked to the opening of the international sporting event, which will be hosted by the Dominican Republic.

The institution indicated that public agencies must adopt the necessary measures to guarantee the continuity of essential services and the fulfillment of their functions, in accordance with their responsibilities.

The XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026 will bring together athletes from different countries in the region, becoming one of the main sporting events held in the country in recent decades.
