Boca Chica.– The Minister of Culture, Roberto Ángel Salcedo, delivered the completely renovated Casa de la Cultura La Caleta to the community of Boca Chica, in an act that aroused the enthusiasm of the various community organizations that for years had requested the realization of this work.

Salcedo highlighted that the intervention of the property is part of the national program of recovery and enhancement of the houses that the Government executes to strengthen cultural life in the communities, in line with the decentralization policy promoted by the ministry.

“Our commitment is that every municipality in the country has a worthy space where its people can train, create and meet. Culture is a right, and we are working to bring it closer and closer to all Dominicans,” he expressed.

The works included patching of interior and exterior walls, waterproofing of critical areas, application of general paint, reorganization of internal spaces and improvements in the bathrooms, interventions that allowed to restore the functionality, safety and a totally renewed image to the installation.

With its reopening, the Casa de la Cultura La Caleta resumes its role as a center for meeting, learning, and artistic expression, projecting itself as a space that will serve students, teachers, and visitors, and that will be preserved for present and future generations.
