Santo Domingo. – Senator for the province of Santiago Rodríguez, Antonio Marte, requested this Thursday an exhaustive investigation into the exchange of gunfire in which 5 people died and a National Police agent was injured in the La Barranquita sector of Santiago.
However, he highlighted that the regrettable thing about those exchanges between civilians and police officers is that innocent people are affected, but he emphasized that not everyone who was there
“What is one to do? Ask for an investigation so that society can be told what happened with that. You must know that there was a confrontation and there were suspicious people; not everyone was a criminal and not everyone was serious,” Marte stated.
According to the preliminary police report, the officer is in a delicate condition and is receiving medical attention at a health center in Santiago.
The deceased are Edward Bernardo Peña Rodríguez; Carlos Enrique Guzmán Navarro (a) El Charly or Charli Chasc; José Vladimir Valerio Estévez; Elvis Antonio Martínez Rodríguez; and Julio Alberto Gómez.
