Police identify Haitian “Waifai” as the alleged responsible for the disappearance of a 6-year-old girl in SDO

Santo Domingo.- The National Police reported that it has identified Wolfay Emmanuel, alias “Waifai“, as the main suspect in the case of the disappearance of a 6-year-old girl in Santo Domingo Oeste. According to the authorities, the suspect is the minor’s uncle and is a fugitive. The preliminary report details that the girl was reported missing on the night of Tuesday, April 28, after leaving her home in the morning with her 11-year-old brother, heading to her school, but never arrived. The investigations, based on images from video surveillance cameras, revealed that along the way, the minor stopped and changed her school uniform for a dress that her uncle gave her. Then, “Waifai” transported her on a motorcycle to an unknown place, without the consent of the girl’s parents or guardians.

In response to the case, the Police have deployed teams from the Sub-Directorate of Investigation (DICRIM), along with specialized units, Civil Defense and a Canine Unit, to track and search for the girl in different areas. The institution highlighted that “Waifai” is considered of high interest in the investigation and remains at large. Furthermore, several individuals have been detained for investigation purposes and will be sent to the relevant authorities as the investigations continue.
