Barahona. – Members of the Department of Investigation (DICRIM) and preventive units of the National Police, with the support of the National Directorate for Drug Control (DNCD) and in coordination with the Public Ministry, seized around 600 grams of different narcotic substances during an operation carried out in the Jarro Sucio sector, municipal district of Villa Central, Barahona province. The seizure occurred when several individuals, upon noticing the presence of the authorities, fled, abandoning the drugs, a scale, and the sum of 150 pesos in cash. Authorities reported that investigations remain open with the purpose of identifying those responsible for this drug point and proceeding with their submission to justice.

Ex-wife of police agent murdered in Barahona asks for further investigation

According to a complaint received from the wife of the police officer shot dead on May 14th of this year in text messages sent to the Whatsapp social network of Ozuna Informa RD, whose CEO is the author of this note, where she states that an agent allegedly evades the investigation of the tragic event. According to what Mrs. Grisvelis Amador Cuevas stated in her complaint, three young people who were arrested to be investigated for the alleged act, after being subjected to a rigorous investigation process and comparison of evidence, the results were negative, this in favor of those arrested. The lady stated that allegedly after the Public Ministry called three police officers who accompanied the Victim on duty the night of the incident for investigation, only two showed up, while a third has evaded the investigation processes. The widow also stated and asks the Attorney General’s Office and the National Police Directorate to send this agent to the authorities for investigation in relation to the event.
