Santo Domingo.– The Ministry of Public Health reported that during the last week, nine new cases of dengue were confirmed, bringing the cumulative number of people affected by the disease so far this year to 171.
According to data from the Epidemiology Directorate, corresponding to Epidemiological Week 26, the national incidence remains at 3.10 confirmed cases per 100,000 inhabitants, with an 8% reduction compared to previous periods.
Regarding other vector-borne diseases, Public Health indicated that no new cases of malaria were reported this week. The cumulative total remains at 104 cases, with a significant decrease compared to the same period in 2025.
Regarding leptospirosis, authorities reported a new case, for a total of 179 confirmed cases in the country, while the incidence of this disease remains at 4.03 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

The epidemiological report also indicates that the country continues to record no cases of cholera, keeping the transmission of this disease at zero until the week evaluated.

Likewise, the Ministry reported five new maternal deaths during the week, for a cumulative total of 68 deaths so far this year. Regarding infant mortality, 24 deaths were reported, of which 22 correspond to neonatal deaths, with a cumulative total of 795 cases.
