Santo Domingo.-The Public Ministry requested the Judicial Office of Permanent Attention Services of the National District to impose preventive prison, as a coercive measure, against a man accused of causing the death of his one-year-old daughter, whose body was found in a ravine in the Los Girasoles sector.
A Rosi Alfredo Mota Almonte (El Locón Brake or Freddy) is accused of causing the death of the infant on April 21, 2026, due to asphyxiation by suffocation.
According to the investigation carried out by prosecutor Topacio Suero Sierra, attached to the Department of Crimes and Offenses against the Person (Homicides) of the National District, the event occurred in the morning, when the defendant, after arriving at his residence, proceeded to suffocate the girl.
Subsequently, he put the lifeless body in a bundle, took it out of the house and threw it into a nearby ravine.
Later, the accused returned to the community and informed neighbors that the girl was missing, which led residents of the area to begin a wide search. Hours later, the body was found inside the aforementioned bundle in the ravine, immediately notifying the authorities.
The Public Ministry, in conjunction with agents of the National Police, carried out the removal of the body, which was sent to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif) for the corresponding purposes.
The defendant was arrested on April 23, 2026, by court order No. 2026-AJ0032323, issued by the Judicial Office of Permanent Attention Services of the National District.
The prosecuting body has legally qualified the facts as a violation of articles 295 and 304-II of the Dominican Penal Code, as well as articles 3, 12, 13, 462 and 463 of Law 136-03 which creates the Code for the Protection and Fundamental Rights of Children and Adolescents.
