Santo Domingo. The First Lady of the Republic, Raquel Arbaje, expressed her willingness to provide support to two families facing highly complex health situations with their children, after learning of their cases through posts shared on social media.
One of the cases is that of the child Eithan David Fulgencio Castillo, whose family members are carrying out a fundraising campaign to pay for a liver transplant, an intervention they consider vital to preserve his life.
Upon reacting to the post, Arbaje reported that she will establish contact with the minor’s relatives to learn about the situation firsthand and explore possible avenues of assistance.
The first lady also responded to the case of Ángel David Roa Ruiz, a 17-year-old adolescent diagnosed with refractory epilepsy, a condition that causes him frequent convulsive seizures despite the treatments received.

According to the information shared by his family, the young man requires Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) surgery, in addition to the placement of a generator that will help reduce the intensity and frequency of his seizures.
In her message, Arbaje indicated that she will also communicate with Ángel David’s family to obtain more details about his medical care and evaluate support alternatives.
Likewise, he requested information about the health center where the adolescent receives treatment and the type of medical coverage he has, noting that, in case of being affiliated with the National Health Insurance (SeNaSa), aid mechanisms could be managed to facilitate access to the procedure he needs.
