Santo Domingo. – The weather forecaster, Jean Suriel, revealed this Thursday that Saharan dust cloud number 17 has already arrived in the Dominican Republic and the humidity content is very high: this is why the thermal sensation will increase significantly in the coming hours, ranging between 39°C and 45°C.
The hottest area in the country today will be Monte Cristi with a heat index of 45°C; the second hottest area is made up of La Vega, Moca and Salcedo with 44°C; while in Santo Domingo it will rise to 43°C at 2 PM.
19 days are left until the end of the Sahara dust season in the Caribbean: this dusty period extends for five months, from the beginning of May to the end of September.
The current particle cloud will last until tomorrow Friday afternoon, increasing allergic processes and the thermal sensation: by the weekend we will no longer have African dust.
