Washington.- The United States Department of State announced this Thursday that it will begin issuing commemorative passports featuring the image of U.S. President Donald Trump on August 8, as part of the celebrations for the country’s 250th anniversary of independence.
The new design, which seeks to commemorate the anniversary, includes an image inside in which Trump appears standing, with a serious expression, leaning slightly forward and with both fists resting on a table.
“You asked for it and we delivered. Starting August 8, request a U.S. 250th anniversary commemorative passport at a passport agency near you,” the State Department expressed on social media.

The initiative is part of a series of measures promoted by the White House that place Trump at the center of the commemorations for the country’s 250th anniversary, something that the Democratic opposition has criticized, considering it reflects a megalomaniacal attitude.
The Government also plans to issue coins with Trump’s face and banknotes with his signature, while the early July Independence Day celebrations were marked by several acts by the president.
