Who was "Maqui", the alleged assailant shot dead by the Police in La Vega?

The death of Marqui Abraham García Gil, known as “Maqui,” during a National Police operation in La Vega, has once again brought the young man’s history into the public eye, as he was identified by authorities as one of the alleged perpetrators of several criminal acts recorded in the province.

According to police reports, “Maqui” was actively wanted for his alleged involvement in the robbery of a sports betting parlor that occurred on May 25th in downtown La Vega. Authorities considered him an armed and highly dangerous individual, which is why they had issued an alert for his location and capture.
