Civil Defense rescues two workers alive after collapse at cement factory in Santiago

Santiago. – Civil Defense personnel rescued two workers alive who were trapped during an internal collapse recorded in a cement factory in this province. The incident occurred around 1:40 in the morning in the hopper area, where a sinkhole occurred while employees were carrying out gypsum extraction work.

The rescue units worked for several hours until they managed to get the two affected people out, who were released at 7:25 in the morning. After the rescue, both were transferred to a health center to receive medical attention. Authorities continue to investigate the causes of the collapse and assess the structure’s conditions to prevent further incidents.
