Santo Domingo. – The General Customs Directorate (DGA) and HIT Puerto Rico Haina announced the implementation of the new 24-hour extended schedule at Puerto Rico Haina from Monday to Friday; Saturdays until 11:00 p.m. and Sundays upon request.
The collecting entity stated that with this measure there will be greater fluidity in the loading and unloading of goods, which contributes to the decongestion of the port. Thus, as agility in the supply chain, more efficient fulfillment of commercial commitments and flexibility to plan and dispatch goods.
With this initiative, the country takes a firm step towards its consolidation as the main logistics hub in the region, strengthening its strategic position and offering greater competitiveness to supply chains.
In addition, more agile processes are achieved for the DGA, logistics operators and taxpayers.
“The implementation of extended hours at Puerto Río Haina marks a before and after in national logistics management. More than an extension of hours, it is a strategic measure that provides tangible savings, boosts the economy and consolidates the vision of a modern customs system,” said the director of DGA, Yayo Sanz Lovatón.

It is recalled that HIT Puerto Rico Haina manages nearly 500,000 TEUs of maritime transport, 34,000 vehicles and more than 8 million metric tons of general loose cargo per year.
