SANTO DOMINGO.– The Minister of Energy and Mines, Joel Santos, informed this Monday that the Government will deliver next week the official report with the causes of the national blackout that occurred last week, a failure that left a large part of the Dominican territory without electricity service.

Santos reiterated that the Government seeks to offer a complete and transparent explanation of what happened, as well as the measures that will be adopted to avoid similar failures in the future. The report will be the first to officially detail the causes of the electrical collapse that affected the country, and which led President Luis Abinader to order immediate changes in key areas of the energy system.“We are analyzing the information that was requested during this week. On Friday there is another committee meeting to conclude on the data that has been required from the actors, and next week we will be delivering the report to the entire population,” the minister affirmed.
