Santo Domingo.– A man reported that his first granddaughter was allegedly deported to Haiti along with her mother, a 16-year-old Haitian teenager who was in an irregular migratory status in the Dominican Republic, even though the child’s father is Dominican.
Visibly affected, the grandfather recounted the efforts he claimed to have made to prevent the minor from being taken to Haitian territory, although he stated that his efforts were unsuccessful.
“I am thinking about what could happen to that little girl because she is walking alone on the street in Haiti,” she expressed through tears.
During an interview with journalist Edith Febles on the program El Día, the man explained that his only son, 25 years old, was in a relationship with the Haitian teenager, who subsequently became pregnant.
The grandfather expressed concern about the conditions in which his granddaughter might currently be and the risks that, he asserts, she could face in Haiti.
