Santo Domingo.– The Justice Jet Set Movement stated this Monday that siblings Antonio and Maribel Espaillat continue to receive privileges within the judicial process, after the First Instruction Court of the National District sent them to a full trial while maintaining the legal classification of manslaughter and the previously imposed coercive measures.
On behalf of the collective, Luis Custodio maintained that the victims and their families expected a more severe decision from the justice system, taking into account the magnitude of the tragedy that occurred on April 8, 2025.
“There is no justice here. Justice is proportional,” Custodio expressed when questioning that the defendants continue to face the process in freedom under financial bail, a travel ban, and periodic reporting.

The movement’s representative stated that the families have had to constantly relive the pain caused by the loss of their loved ones during each stage of the judicial process and considered that the nightclub owners have been favored by the institutions.
Likewise, he criticized part of the arguments presented by the court during the reading of the decision, understanding that the case must be evaluated from the perspective of the responsibility and the consequences left by the collapse of the establishment’s roof.

Custodio reiterated that the Jet Set Justice Movement will remain vigilant of the process’s development and will continue to demand sanctions it considers proportional to a tragedy that left 236 dead and more than a hundred injured.
With Judge Raymundo Mejía’s decision, the case now enters the trial phase, where the criminal liability of the Espaillat brothers will be determined.
