Peter Sharp: “Dominican Republic marks the beginning of a culture of open justice”

Santo Domingo.– The head of Institutional Relations of RAGA Internacional, Peter Sharp Vargas, stated that the celebration in Santo Domingo of the First International Open Justice Conference constitutes a historic starting point for the strengthening of a culture of transparency and citizen participation in the judicial system.

“El pueblo dominicano y el Poder Judicial están iniciando un camino sin retorno, abrir la justicia para todas y para todos”,

afirmó.

Sharp said that the Dominican Republic is consolidating itself as a regional leader in open justice processes, both in Latin America and the Caribbean, which strengthens its role as an international reference in the matter.

The Chilean expert highlighted the magnitude of the event, which brings together ministers of supreme courts, representatives of international organizations, academics, students, and specialists, who share experiences and learnings about innovation and access to justice.

“Open justice is ecumenical. It’s like a symphony, like a great bachata, a great merengue where everyone dances,” he concluded.
