Santo Domingo. – The President of the Republic,
Luis Abinader, made his position clear regarding the proselytizing acts of public officials, warning that he will not allow the use of their positions to campaign.
In that sense, through a message posted on his
X account (formerly Twitter), the president expressed that although he is a “tolerant and democratic” president, there are limits that he is not willing to allow.

“I am a tolerant and democratic President, but everything has a limit. We will continue governing for the people and for that reason, I say to all pre-candidates and their coordinators: proselitizing acts to officials are not allowed. If they want to campaign, they must leave their positions,” wrote Abinader.
With these statements, the head of state distances himself from the possible politicization of public functions in view of the upcoming internal and general electoral processes, making it clear that his priority continues to be management and not the campaign.
The message has generated multiple reactions on social media, where some users support the measure as a gesture of institutionalism, like the Minister of Tourism David Collado.
This warning could also be interpreted as a preventive action to avoid ethical and legal conflicts that tarnish the government or the image of the ruling party.
