Santo Domingo — Dominican merengue singer Raúl Acosta, known as “El Presidente del Merengue”, announced the celebration of his 30 years in music with a tour of different provinces of the Dominican Republic, thus reaffirming his legacy as one of the most emblematic names in merengue.  The artist’s office highlighted that Acosta has been nominated for important international awards such as Lo Nuestro, Latin Grammy, and Billboard, and has received multiple recognitions at the Soberano Awards (formerly Casandra) throughout his career.

Digitally, the merengue artist maintains a solid presence with more than 2 million monthly listeners on Spotify and more than 1 billion accumulated views on YouTube, figures that reflect his relevance and connection with the public. During these three decades, Acosta has conquered international markets such as Japan, Colombia, Spain, Brazil, and Venezuela, and was a pioneer in bringing Dominican merengue to Mexico, contributing to projecting our rhythm on global stages.  Currently, the artist has also ventured into politics with the founding of the Diaspora Primero Party (DP), an organization with which he aspires to the presidency of the Dominican Republic.
