Nicolás Maduro arrives at the New York court where he will be tried

New York.- The President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, arrived this Monday with his wife, Cilia Flores, at the Manhattan court where he will appear for the first time before the judge, initially at 12:00 local time (17:00 GMT), after being captured last Saturday in Caracas and transferred to New York.

The convoy in which Maduro and Flores were traveling was made up of five vehicles and a significant police escort. The police had blocked the streets leading to the court.

The Venezuelan leader, accompanied by his wife, was transported by helicopter to a helipad near the court and from there, he boarded an armored vehicle with difficulty, guarded by agents of the United States Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), in which he traveled to the court.
