Pope Leo XIV sends a special greeting to mothers on their day

Vatican City.- Pope Leo XIV sent a special greeting to mothers today, on the day dedicated to them in different countries, including Italy, as well as to several groups of pilgrims.

“I send a dear greeting to all mothers, with a prayer for them and for those who are already in Heaven. Happy Mother’s Day” to all, said the pontiff after the midday Sunday prayer in St. Peter’s.

He took advantage of the end of his speech to give a special greeting to pilgrims who have arrived in Rome to celebrate the Jubilee.

Among them, a group of doctors from Granada (Spain), as well as pilgrims from Valladolid (Spain) and Torrelodones (Madrid), among others.

Around 100,000 people gathered today in St. Peter’s Square to follow the first Sunday prayer of the new pontiff, who was elected last Thursday by the conclave of cardinals.
