Mexico City.– The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, sent this Saturday a congratulation to Mexican mothers on the occasion of Mother’s Day, which is commemorated this May 10.
“I want to send a very affectionate, heartfelt greeting, a very strong hug to all Mexican mothers. To tell them that we love them, that we greatly value the work they do every day,” said the president in a brief video posted on her social media.
Likewise, he asked families to take care of mothers and support them because, he assured, housework is not only the woman’s job but “of everyone”.
“Let’s take care of mothers, not only on May 10th, but all year round, 365 days a year,” he/she stated.
She recalled that in Mexico “it’s time for women” and exalted the importance of their rights. She took the opportunity to thank her mother for “everything she has given me and congratulate her for instilling values in me.”

And he emphasized that material things “are not important, the most important thing is the spiritual. Let’s give affection, let’s give a lot of love and let’s protect each other. May Mexican women always live, may all mothers live and may Mexico live,” he concluded.
In several countries, Mother’s Day is celebrated every second Sunday of May. Some of the countries that have chosen this date are: Mexico, United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, Colombia, Netherlands, Japan, Peru, Brazil, Ecuador, Honduras, among others.
