Lisbon.- The Government of Portugal reported this Thursday that the number of Portuguese citizens who died as a result of the devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela a week ago has risen to 79, including 14 minors.
A source from the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs specified that among the dead were 69 people who also held Venezuelan nationality.

Likewise, there are 64 nationals missing in the Caribbean country.
The two earthquakes, with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5, recorded last Wednesday with just 39 seconds between them, shook the Caribbean coast of Venezuela and have so far caused at least 2,295 deaths and 11,267 injuries, according to the latest report from Venezuelan authorities.
Last Friday, the spokesperson for the UN International Organization for Migration (IOM), Zoe Brennan, noted that up to 6.76 million people could have been affected by the earthquakes.
