Katerine Andrea Martínez Martínez was presented by the Colombian Prosecutor’s Office before a guarantees control judge after having been arrested in the municipality of Florencia (Caquetá), 535 km from Bogotá, for her alleged participation in the planning of the attack against the Colombian senator Miguel Uribe Turbay, on June 7th. Media reports indicate that Martinez allegedly gave the Glock 9mm weapon to the minor who reportedly shot the right-wing presidential pre-candidate multiple times during a public event.

The Detention
In one of the videos released by the media, the moment of Martínez’s arrest is observed, outside a place in Florence. The young woman would have changed her hair color after fleeing Bogotá, where the attack was perpetrated. In another record, Martínez appears handcuffed, next to police officers, boarding the plane that would take her from Caqueta to the Colombian capital, reports El Heraldo. As reported in the press, Martinez would be the partner of Carlos Eduardo Mora González, who would have been the second person arrested for the attack against Uribe Turbay, last Thursday, to whom the Prosecutor’s Office charged with the crimes of “attempted homicide aggravated, illegal possession of firearms and use of minors in the commission of crimes”, according to El Colombiano. The man would have been the driver of a vehicle where the weapon was given to the young man and where he changed clothes. Mora, the aforementioned media outlet affirms, had an open criminal process for trafficking and carrying weapons for the exclusive use of the Armed Forces.On the other hand, another man, who would have driven the motorcycle that took the young man to the vicinity of the place where the senator was, surrendered to the authorities last week.
