A schoolgirl was attacked by a swarm of bees outside a school in Brazil, leaving her frozen in fear as bystanders rushed to help.
A passing motorcycle courier intervened, using spray and water in an attempt to drive the bees away and rescue the girl. Other people soon joined the effort, using a hose to help disperse the swarm.
The courier was stung around 40 times during the rescue, while the girl suffered more than 100 stings and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Both the girl and the courier remain under medical care following the attack.
