DeLauter and Stewart, Players of the Week; Nasim Núñez achieves Play of the Week
NEW YORK. — Chase DeLauter of the Cleveland Guardians and Sal Stewart of the Cincinnati Reds were named Players of the Week in the American League and National League, respectively, while Dominican Nasim Núñez of the Washington Nationals starred in the Play of the Week.

DeLauter had an explosive start to the season, batting 6-for-17 with four home runs, five RBIs, and five runs scored in his first four games of 2026. In addition, he recorded a 1.059 slugging percentage and a .353 on-base percentage, leading Major League Baseball in home runs and total bases reached with 18, as well as tying for extra-base hits with four.
For his part, Stewart also shone offensively by batting 7-10 in three games, with two RBIs, three doubles, three walks and two runs scored. The player finished the week with an impressive slugging of 1.300 and an on-base percentage of .769, tying for the lead in extra-base hits in the Majors and ranking second in OPS with 2.069.
On the defensive side, Núñez took the spotlight by making a spectacular play at shortstop during the weekend, when he robbed the Chicago Cubs of a hit with an action that was selected as the best play of the week in the Major Leagues.
