Eagles extend their dominance and defeat the Bulls 3-1 to achieve their seventh consecutive victory
SANTO DOMINGO. – Las Águilas Cibaeñas continue firm in the lead of the tournament by adding their seventh consecutive victory, after defeating the Toros del Este 3 runs to 1 on Wednesday night at the Francisco Micheli Stadium.
The Cibao team (17-3), owner of the best record of the season, once again showed its collective strength to extend its lead to seven and a half games over the Romanenses (10-11), who remain in second position.
The Aguiluchos’ offense manufactured its first score in the second inning, when Alberto Rodríguez singled and later scored, driven in by a double from Jonatan Clase against starting pitcher Aaron Sanchez.
The advantage increased in the sixth episode thanks to a monumental hit by Aderlin Rodríguez, who sent the ball out of the park to left field to put the score at 2-0. It was his solo home run against a Sánchez who pitched solidly, but without the necessary offensive support.
The Eagles sealed the game in the eighth inning with the aggressiveness of Ezequiel Durán, who opened with a single, stole second base and scored on another hit by Alberto Rodríguez, extending the lead to 3-0.

For the Toros, Aaron Sanchez (3-2) took the loss after pitching five and a third innings of two earned runs, although he limited the Aguiluchos bats and kept the game close.
The Eagles’ mound body shone again, combining between six pitchers to allow just three hits and completely control the Romanense offense.
The Eagles return to action this Thursday looking to continue their dominant pace, while the Bulls will try to regain ground in the standings.
