Santo Domingo. – Businessman and CEO of Alofoke Group Santiago Matías revealed during a live broadcast of his program Planeta Alofoke a situation that, according to him, involved the Dominican national soccer team forward, Mariano Díaz, upon his arrival in the country.
According to Matías, following the Dominican national team’s recent participation in Panama, the footballer arrived in the Dominican Republic through the Las Américas International Airport (AILA), where he allegedly faced issues related to several of his personal belongings.
According to the account provided by Matías, Díaz allegedly explained to the authorities that the items were for personal use and were part of the equipment used by the national team. However, he asserted that the player continued to be pressured to hand over said belongings until he intervened in the situation.
During the same broadcast, Matías expressed his dissatisfaction with what happened and publicly urged both Mariano Díaz and his own son, who is part of the lower categories of the Dominican national team, not to represent the national squad again.

So far, neither the authorities involved nor the Dominican Football Federation have issued an official version regarding the events reported by Santiago Matías.
