Tehran.- A Qatari delegation traveled to Tehran this Sunday to promote the peace agreement between Iran and the U.S., the signing of which seems imminent, Iranian media reported.
The ISNA agency indicated that one of the advisors to the Qatari Foreign Minister, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, arrived in Tehran to “boost talks between Tehran and Washington”.
For its part, the Tasnim agency confirmed the arrival of the Qataris in the Iranian capital to discuss the “latest developments in the diplomatic process”.
Qatar and Pakistan, mediators
Qatar is, along with Pakistan, one of the mediators between Iran and the United States to reach a peace agreement, which all indications suggest will be signed soon, although the specific date is unknown.
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced yesterday that the agreement with Iran to end the war will be signed today, Sunday, which will allow for the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
However, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Ismail Bagaei, also stated yesterday that the memorandum of understanding with the United States would not be signed today.

“We must wait to know the exact date of the signing of the memorandum of understanding; although it will not be tomorrow, it cannot be ruled out that it will take place in the coming days,” Bagaei said in statements reported by the official IRNA agency.
The United States, Pakistan, and Iran have agreed that in any case, the signing of the agreement would be virtual, electronically.
