Abinader receives military honors in parade for the 182nd anniversary of National Independence

Santo Domingo.– With a wide display of the different national security agencies, President Luis Abinader was received during the Military and Police Parade held this Friday, within the framework of the commemoration of the 182nd anniversary of National Independence.

The traditional parade, which each year pays tribute to the heroes who forged independence, brought together thousands of citizens who gathered on George Washington Avenue, on the Malecón of Santo Domingo, to witness the military and police display by air, sea and land, in a coordinated demonstration of operational and logistical capacity.

Upon his arrival at the event, the Head of State was greeted with a 21-gun salute and the singing of the National Anthem, in a solemn ceremony that highlighted the discipline, organization, and preparation of the Armed Forces and the National Police.

The attendees enjoyed the displays of brigades, mechanized, motorized, and armored units, as well as the traditional Blood Cavalry of the Dominican Republic Army (ERD). Vessels from the Dominican Republic Navy (ARD) and the flyover of aircraft from the Dominican Republic Air Force (FARD) also participated, generating enthusiasm among the audience present. The activity reaffirmed the patriotic spirit and the unity of the Dominican people in honor of the National Independence of the Dominican Republic Dominicana.
